Rolling Rock ainít Rolling Rock any more. Itís more like Slippery Rock. They shut down the original brewery in Latrobe PA when Budweiser bought them out. Now IIRC itís brewed in New Jersey or something. It doesnít matter to me; it was like water already.

Iíll have to try Guinness warm but bear in mind itís still coming out of a can, not draft as it should be.

Wow! You certainly have a challenge there. I suppose you could practice meditation for hours on end and eventually reach the point at which you could even levitate.

Another option might be to really get into reading whatever style of writing really grabs your attention so that hours pass without you noticing.

Building models might be another possibility. For that, you probably need to be sober.

I grew up in Latrobe (not sure what part of SW PA you live), so when RR was moved out of town, it was a big move that changed the dynamic of the town. People changed overnight from drinking it loyally to vowing to never touch it again. And yes, the mountain springs apparently moved to New Jersey.

As for Guinness, don't drink it warm. It should be cool/cold, but not freezing and not in a frosty mug. The cans have a CO2 cartridge in them, so they actually taste pretty good (not quite out of the tap, but better than your average can of beer).

When I was visiting Ireland, I was amazed how good the beer was there, especially drinking Guinness right in Dublin. Some people said that it doesn't travel well, while others suggest the water used there makes a difference vs. the water used for their U.S. production.

Yup. Absolutely the best way to drink it if you can't get draft. The nitro widget does a very nice job.

The nitro widget? Not sure I understand, is that an accessory?

I tried Guinness out of a Can, was definitely NOT impressed.

I didn't live in England at all, but I got all my Guinness from Boston, MA and the canned stuff doesn't compare.

It's like an Estaban vs a Martin.

To each their own. I very rarely go to bars, particularly these days, but when I do fancy a Guinness or two, the can does very nicely. Especially at cellar temperature.

And what does England have to do with Guinness?

A can of Guinness, poured into a pint glass and given a moment or two so it can develop its head, is 90% as good as a properly served draft (draught).

So says me, anyway.

Yes, this. Maybe someone's actually trying to drink Guinness straight out of the can.

Ah yes, the Irish do have strong opinions on how to drink Guinness. I suppose to them it’s like drinking coffee cold.

I live south of Pittsburgh but am not native to the area. I’m originally from NE PA.

This is what regular Guinness used to be like, if you're curious:

https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/209/752/

Regular Guinness today is just dark brown Bud.
