Kirby, the Schnoodle, in his favourite spot - any available patch of sunlight. Sigma sd Quattro shot, with the 30/1.4 ART lens.

Finished up the tour in Edinburgh and outside the city. They've got a great botanical garden.

Tried the new Lumix out a little more last weekend. The gorge trail at Watkins Glen State Park. Think I need to figure out if this camera has an 'HDR' function that shoots at 3 different exposures, then combines them so that the overbright sections are more 'burned in'.

And from the pre-race gridwalk at the racetrack:

You can always manually bracket and combine the photos in post later for HDR. I've been doing it like that forever using RAW photos. The out of camera HDR never come out well in my opinion.

Funny you should say that - I've been neglecting my Sony in favour of the Sigma ever since I bought it. I took the a6500 out last weekend to try to capture some of the beauty currently on display in our garden. I love taking closeup shots with a long telephoto - this was with my Sony 70-300, all the way out at 300mm (450mm equivalent with the APS-C sensor)

Just for info sake...

The bright spot to the RIGHT of the Milky Way is Jupiter. The brightest spot to the LEFT (at the same level as Jupiter in the shot) is Saturn.
