Buskers Friendly PA
Replacing my fishman performer with an active speaker, one at first then follow maybe with another. I am an acoustic guitarist,/vocalist. Doing smaller buskers nights but speed can be of essence. i was thinking of an alto ts315 as I would never use subs. Worried the mid range maybe a little muddy though compared to a 12"? But need the power as it will be single at first. Anyone??

None of the above as well for me. If an active PA speaker is what you're looking for it's likely the QSC CP8, but 2 units of S1 Pro have likely better dispersion and easier battery power.

I bought a used Yamaha DXR10 last summer and have gigged with it over 50 times and every time I sound check, my face is adorned with a grin of satisfaction that comes from the impressive sound that comes from that powered speaker. They have a killer warranty, the sound is about as transparent as you want, and the input options are perfect for my needs. The DSP allows for using them as a monitor, foh, or just running them flat (with no dsp). When the foh is engaged, the bass that comes from the 10 is as good as the bass I get from my 12" MSR400s. The DXR gets plenty loud too. At one particular gig, in a large church, those complaining of the loud volume saw my 2 MSR400s, and the Harbinger sub and thought they were cranking out all the sound, when in fact the FOH main slider was practically at 0 and the only audible sound was coming from the single DXR10 with monitor DSP engaged.

What's a "buskers night"?
Around here a 'busker' is someone playing out on the street/sidewalk/park somewhere with no AC power.

I love the part about speed being of essence. In my mind, you're sprinting in with your PA, singing a soft, slow, beautiful acoustic ballad before running off into the night to escape the police.

They’re pricey but amazing amps for vocals and guitar: AER Compact Mobile.

Put the performer on wheels, plug in and go. An active speaker needs a mixer too. It'll slow you down hooking it all up.

This goes back to the OP, are you asking for battery powered for real unhooked busking?
Your poll does not have any battery powered amp. Maybe busking means something different to you. Some streets or town centers do have AC power... I have a really nice power block I bought off Amazon that will run my AER 60/3 for 4 hours on one charge. My preference though is simply the BOSE S1s and I have 2 of those. Help us out here. Davidc |

Another vote for the Bose S1. Battery operated, good sound, about 15 pounds and easy to carry. Especially good for a singer/acoustic guitarist.
Some places accept and encourage busking... no concern about having the police called on you. |

I'm voting Bose S1 also for a busking amp.
