Default Maton EBG 808 TE: needs a preamp ?

Simple question I have try and ordered a Maton EBG 808 TE .
For this guitar is recommended an external preamp or is not necessary ?
I have a QUILTER 101 mini that in flat setting should be good also for acoustic .

A pre amp is certainly not essential, as the Maton has one built in w' one of the best pickup/mic combinations going. You can use one if you feel more EQ or effects or something is desired.

Not familiar really with Quilter, though know of them, it may be okay. Try it and see, but I suspect it will not be brilliant, the celestion as is will work. An amp designed for acoustic would be much better. Or a compact mixer and powered PA speaker. See how you go.

Tommy Emmanuel uses an AER preamp with his AER amp (and the PA of course). He has his reasons, but I've never been sure why he doesn't just take the xlr feed out of the AER amp. Regardless, his live sound is incredible, so that is something to think about. Good luck!!!
