Default D'Addario Nickel Bronze Acoustic strings on CF guitar?

I used to have Martin strings on my CF guitar. Recently notice there is 50% off at BOGO for D'Addario Nickel Bronze Acoustic strings. Would like to ask any good result about that on CF guitar?

I love them on my two Orpheums. But when I tried them on my CF top Adamas I was underwhelmed. They sounded ok just like any other string, and while they lasted for months on the Orphs they went dull much faster on the Adamas. Though if they still had free shipping to Canada I sure would pick up a few sets.

I heard these strings can help bringing out the wood tone of acoustic guitar. But then I worry it will not give good tone in CF guitar. If people also get great result with this combo, it may worth to try...

I use either these or Martin monel's on my Rainsong.

Whichever is less $$$ when I buy them.

I have used them on a Cargo to good effect, though I am now shifting my attention to silk/bronze or silk/steel.

I've had them on my Sable, they sounded good and lasted a long time.

May I ask how long a set of that last for?

Like PeterM, I tend to use either these or Monels on my Rainsong Shorty. I find that the Monels generally last about four-five months, whereas the NB last about a month shorter in my experience. However, the NB for the same gauge tend to give a bit more volume - at least the way I perceive it.

Mine were included as bonus in some Daddario 3-packs.

From AGF buzz I thought they'd be good on the very nice RainSong dreadnought new-to-me last year.

My main activity is acoustic celtic, old-time and bluegrass song circles so guitars need to be loud enough for 8-12 person jams and sing-longs.

The NBs sounded very quiet and muffled compared to the old nanowebs that were on the RainSong. Took them off the next day.

(I haven't tried NBs amplified or playing peacefully at home.)

Cheers.

It just so happens that not too long ago I took some "old nanowebs" off my guitar and replaced them with the Nickel Bronze. Not a carbon fiber guitar, just a plain old wooden one

But anyway, I would definitely agree with "quieter" but where you found them "muffled" to my ears they were more like smoother and less jangly. For me the PB Nanowebs have always been some of the loudest, boldest sounding strings around even more than most Phosphor Bronze types. The Nickel Bronze are similar to D'Addario Phosphor Bronze minus like half the overtones and a bit of the bass.

I only play peacefully at home so the Nanos can be quite an earful if I play with a firm DUDUDU pattern using a thick, beveled flatpick.

The NB's lasted about 4 months on the Sable, but it doesn't get played 100% of the time. More like 30 %, not sure how much difference that makes. I thought they were full, smooth and a bit quieter sounding. An enjoyable string for me.

Eventually I give up the offer as I already got 30 sets of EXP strings from beyond and strings last year (same buy one get one free). It usually last me 2 - 3 months a set. Hope I can get another big discount before using up all set of strings. Thank you for all the responses.
