Default 1952 Martin neck reset luthier suggestions

Hey everyone

I recently acquired a 1950 Martin 0-15M. The action at the 12th fret is 3mm but the saddle is shaved down to nothing so I think its neck reset time.

As its an old Martin I definitely won't be tackling this myself.

The guitar is with my partner in Philadelphia at the moment so we were thinking of having it done in the USA as it might be cheaper than in Aus?

Can anyone recommend a good repair tech in/around Philadelphia?

Thanks!

I would get it done up in qld, then its acclimatised to that humidity before any work is done.

Imagine paying for a neck reset, only to receive it and find it needs another one.

I'm with Steve on this, definitely get it done where you're located. If he does it in PA and then you ship it to yourself in Aus, the risks involved are much higher.

On the plus side, judging from your photos it doesn't look like the bridge itself was shaved down at all, so you likely don't need a new bridge. That'll save some time and money.

Nice looking Martin.

Assuming the shop doing the work has proper environmental controls for temp and RH the location the work is done at should have no difference.... People ship things to me for repair from all across the USA including from the desert southwest without any issues.

FWIW I am about 1-1/2 hours south of Philly.

If its done local to the op, then it will be repaired / altered / modified in the environment its about to continue its existence in.
