Show Off Your Vintage LG-2's!
I'm very (im)patiently waiting for Scott Baxendale to finish converting my LG-1 to X bracing, effectively turning it into an LG-2. While I wait, I'd love to see (and hear) some old LG-2's to tide me over until then!

Oh, it's a barky one, this '49. Grain lines showing through where pickguard has sunken into it. |

Beautiful. Mine is a ‘56 that’s well on its way to looking like yours.

Thanks, man. Coming from someone working towards 6000 posts, I'll take that as a compliment. But the guitar does sound as it looks... very "open" . I don't check in to the AGF often, but Rexsblues enthusiastic post was just hangin' there without a post, so . . .

My favorite LG-2 over the past 50+ years was a 1944 maple body Banner. Never could work out a deal on this particular. The only LG-2 though that I owned for an length of time (around 20 years) was a 1946. I finally traded that off for a 1957 CF-100E which while I liked the sound of better I had trouble adapting to the 1 11/16" nut and slimmer neck. That one then went for a 1932 L-1 12 fretter. I had finally come home. Here is the photographic record of my journey through Gibson Advanced Body Ls.
