Default Another build from an almost noob

See... I graduated up to “almost noob”!
This one is #5 for me.
It is padauk and Sitka. Maple binding with BWB the rosette is walnut. The finish is Tru-oil / semi gloss finish. Nothing super fancy, but my guitars are getting better thanks to a lot of support from folks all over the place including this forum
I can’t wait to get started on the next one and make less mistakes

You did a fine job, congrats. How do you like the tone of the instrument? I always find something about every instrument that is unique. It's hard to explain as you know since you built it.

Looks good. Any problem with the padauk and the maple when finishing?

That padauk dust gets on EVERYTHING. You really have to be careful ha... however shellac sealed the maple before I started the finishing in earnest.
Spots that had red on it ... had to carefully sand it away

Tonally i like the padauk a lot. It has color issues down the road with browning, but finally I think it’s one of the most under rated tonewoods out there. It’s also the first OM style body I’ve played with sound ports. I need to do some recordings from the front so I can tell whatbthe projected sound is like I guess.

Since you are experimenting with Tru-oil, you might also like General Finishes "Arm R Seal". It's my favorite in this general class for use on musical instruments.
