Lisa,

You are right... a beautiful instrument!

Do you know if RainSong has any plans for a translucent style finish like the ones available through Emerald?

I really wish they would offer an option to do abalone dots or small diamonds in lieu of the sharks. I think the guitar looks nice with the abalone, but I really don't like the fish. I would prefer a more classy look.

Also, instead of painting them, I wish they used colored resin to make the guitars. I would like an amber colored guitar body with a slightly darker brown neck, but yet still see the carbon fiber patterns which adds to the modern beauty of these instruments. That said, the burst paint jobs are very nice.

I am assuming their use of impregnated carbon fiber limits the colored clear finishes? But don't know for sure.

Agreed. I've never been a fan of the sharks, RSs use of abalone around the soundhole (this example is too blingy for my taste) or the Rainsong finish options, especially compared to what Emerald is doing. Jmo.

Personally, with the Shark inlays, a simple and classic herringbone ring around the sound hole would be more in theme.
Also if it were a Dred, things like that could be more easily forgiven.
Still a classy looking axe, but the abalone sound hole inlay is too much. (IMHO)

.

Although I understand that opinions differ... I dig the abalone with shark inlays.
