**Sold** (locally)arrivee L-03 2006 Great Condition price drop
***see additional photo set below a few posts down***The versatile Larrivee "L" shape, made in Vancouver BC in 2006, beautifully kept and for sale by its second owner. $600 + shipping.
Though the L-shape is everything its reputation says -- well balanced, loud enough to hang in jams but responsive enough for excellent fingerstyle and immaculately built, I'm selling because I bought here on AGF its OM twin, the OM -03, which suits me better as a smaller more purely fingerstyle oriented model. Price dropped to a steal, and way below those unrealistic sellers on reverb, at $600 plus shipping. Condition is very good/excellent - there are no dings or blemishes other than a few light pick marks on the pickguard and barely visible variations in the way the finish is aging. The instrument has opened up extremely well and sounds outstanding. The spruce top has darkened and mellowed beautifully. Happy to share photos in a more neutral light and without the resizing I likely did badly to meet the site limits. Here's the specs: * Canadian Sitka spruce top * Sapele back and sides * Maple binding on the body, fretboard, heel[IMG] * Mahogany neck * Ebony fretboard and bridge * 1 ¾” Nut width; 2 1/4 string spacing * * Original hardshell case in good condition, a few dings Last edited by G-Money; 05-22-2019 at 06:48 PM. Reason: price drop |

Lovely L-03. What does the *SP* designation mean ? I'm very tempted.

I suspect Sapele considering the 03 is typically Mahogany. Fantastic price too. This shouldn’t last long. But then again the used market is about as bad as I’ve seen it.

Hi Herman -- Yes, SP is for sapele. There's lots of talk about Larrivee's and other company's use of mahogany alternatives during the mid 2000s, with Larrivee among the early adopters of just calling it sapele rather than some marketing oriented term. No one nowadays shies away from saying sapele since folks recognize it's a fantastic tonewood. Newer Larrivees use khaya I believe.
It's a great guitar, will post new photos if only for photo practice. |

questioning myself for letting this go vs. somehow rearranging my 3 piece herd another way. Just too similar to the OM-03, yet so much more opened up and rich compared with the much newer, stiffer OM. Come and get it.
