To me a solid color on carbon weave is such a waste, why not use a clear color that picks up the 3d effect of the carbon weave like Emerald. Though my guitar below is red, the effect in blue woud be similar, it is so much richer looking. And there is a flash is the red below that does really come through in the picture.

I tend to agree with Steve. Also, I think all carbon fiber guitars should have built-in body comfort contours.

Default I agree also

I agree with Steve also (hello, Steve, nice to 'meet' you) ... I also think the textured look is much classier and has a lot more personality, for lack of a better word at five in the morning.

By the way Steve, your guitar is quite lovely, at least what I can see of it.

Steve,

You are absolutely right about letting the weave show through. Gosh, my Shorty would be so dull without that!

Hopefully, Ashvin can fine tune things and get the color with the weave.

Steve, I am so jealous of your burgundy guitar! That is my dream color!

Steve, you must really be smitten with your new Emerald, back in February of 2010 you wrote this about the fully painted Legacy Burst you received from me:

"The sunburst is amazing looks like a 30's Gibson yet it glows and gradiates [sic] so slowly from bright to black at the rim. Just very nice"

Although I agree that carbon fiber showing through can be attractive, especially the way Rainsong builds their guitars, I find the solid colors equally attractive. You might be surprised to know that the solid blue was a best seller for CA and within hours of posting the blue WS on our site we received an order for a blue jumbo. Not everyone likes to see carbon fiber in fact I have had two guitars returned to me, one Emerald and one Rainsong due to the carbon fiber not lining up perfectly which can happen from time to time. I applaud Ashvin for giving us the color option in addition to the standard finishes, perhaps next year he will add a transparent color and a sunburst finish as well.

Now Ted, I don't believe that a burst is a solid color? Still think those old CA bursts are cool. Smitten with my new Emerald is too weak a word. Steve

I was looking at a sunburst GX at Ted's back when he used to keep dozens of CA's in stock, probably when you bought yours from him, it was stunning allright but my budget meant I had to settle for the GX RAW. From my recollection the CA sunburst finishes did cover up all the carbon except for the edge giving the guitar the appearance of binding. Was yours different? Looking at the catalog that came with my GX I see that most CA finishes covered up all the carbon but they sure were pretty. BTW Steve, love the finish on your double neck, I think it's the first Emerald I've see where the back and sides were not painted black, is there an extra charge foe that?

Andy just trying to give Ted a hard time!! The old CA burst covered the weave but to me the two tone burst was not a solid one color as the Blue. The Emerald I got was a special order with full weave, the person ordering it didn't follow through and Alistair offered it to me, since I had already sent in a request for a double. Yes it would be an up charge. Pictures don't do it justice nor sound bits on a Utube. Only guitar I have that is a privilege to own. The comments on the blue have nothing to do with the quality of Rainsong guitars in fact I just traded that CA Legacy TB for a Rainsong BI-JM1000-N2 which is a wonderful guitar. luckily they didn't paint the cool Black Ice top!!
