"The Keyhole" Grand Concert
Here is a spotlight on one of the Healdsburg guitars I'm taking with me.
It's my new grand concert model. This one has special inlay on the medallion done by Jimmi Wingert. If you're not familiar with Jimmi she does incredible inlay. Check her out at: jimmiwingertinlay.com The guitar features some really spectacular Brazilian rosewood on the back and sides, headplate and bridge. The back and sides were salvaged from a structural beam that was used in a church built in the late 1800's - early 1900's in south America. Here are some specifications and pictures. Stop by and take a look at it at the show later this week! http://mayesguitars.com/The_Keyhole_Grand_Concert.html |

The medallion almost made me jump when I took a closer look! Great looking wood, and I love the history of it.

Your guitars always seem to have just the right proportions, John, with beautiful attention to every detail. This one is no exception, and I'm excited to get to see it up close and personal this weekend!

Hi John,
I am so looking forward to playing this guitar at the festival. Such a nice design - elegant and fresh. Jimmi is great - I have a lovely inlay on the headstock of my Wingert done by her. She has got a great eye for design and does flawless work. Great combo. See you at the festival. Best. Jayne |

John, This is one of the "misses" for me at Healdsburg. Frankly, I had walked by the a couple of times, but it was while I was looking for a place to sit down and rest my knee (I'm having full right knee replacement soon). It's my loss because I thought it was a beautiful guitar each time I saw it and had hoped to play it. I'm glad some folks who were able to take advantage of having this fabulous guitar available for play, spent some time with it to report to the rest of us what we missed. I certainly won't that opportunity pass me up again. I feel as if I have sinned and fallen short of an active Healdsburg attendee.
