Default Cover of Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car"

Thought y'all might enjoy this. We're not much of a band for rehearsing (we tend to work up harmonies in the truck on the way to gigs and then sort out the rest later), but we've been pretty diligent lately as we've been gearing up for some shows in Mexico in a couple of weeks.

So this is what it sounds like when we actually rehearse. I tried to livestream this on Facebook but it didn't work. Ah well. (We often record rehearsals so we can remember how we were playing things, so this isn't unusual at all.)

Guitar is a Waterloo WL-12 (that I am just not in love with anymore. It's just a VERY bright sound that I don't need that often).

Enjoy!

WOW! That is one of the best covers I’ve heard of “Fast Car” — y’all need a record deal!

This is a talent few have.

Your cover is excellent, to my ears.

Aww thanks! We all know that we’re very lucky that we can sing together pretty effortlessly. It’s a really special connection, and our plan is to ride it until the wheels come off.

Thanks! And we are three! You can hear the keyboard player’s third harmony part in the choruses.

Edit: we’re panned pretty hard so headphones help. She’s center. I’m left. He’s right.

I have never had a chance to see her live. She’s sooooo good.

That sounds really good Scott! Nice and clean, too, no unnecessary clutter.

Well done!

Thanks! We try really, really hard to avoid clutter or even doubling of instruments.

Yes, let me add my tip of the hat too. Beside the arrangement not adding stuff just to add things, the little rests and spaces add a lot to this song.

Thanks! A friend of ours who sits in with on lap steel calms that “the reverence.”
