Default I had door stop, and needed a foot switch....

....and......stop me if you've heard this one......

Next one will use the smaller switch commonly seen on old lamps, but this works, and it goes very nicely with my brown faced Tremolux!

Regards,
Howard Emerson

Not a new idea - the late Ampeg guru Dennis Kager told me that the tremolo footswitches on those old top-panel blue-check amps were in fact repurposed doorstops...

Hey Steve,
Correct, and many were “Daisy” brand, and off-white.

The prices on some vintage foot switches are obscene, especially the 50’s Fender wooden models.

Best,
Howard Emerson

The one on my top-panel/no 'verb Rocket - bought brand-new in '64 - is in fact a Daisy, but mine's the same shade of grey (with original matching cable - since replaced) as the two-button switches on the front-panel Reverberocket/Gemini amps. BTW when Dennis Kager serviced it he told me it was one of the very first amps he worked on when he joined Ampeg - still has the original tubes/caps, visually/electronically 100% but it's been in semi-retirement since I got the Bugera V22 in early 2010...

Steve,
A FB friend's Rocket came with this 'white' Daisy:

Was Dennis Kager referring to your particular Rocket, or the model in general?

Always nice to have qualified verification!

Howard, that's brilliant! It's automatically non-skid to boot. I made a single button for my looper STOP function, and this would be excellent for that use.

I'm using a dual button switch now, so I shaped a scrap of walnut into the wedge to make a dual pedal. One of these days I might get around to adding a non-skid pad on the bottom, but it really doesn't move around on me.

Those who forget the past are destined to think they've reinvented the, er.....foot pedal:-)

My guess is that a lot of them from the 1950's & 1960's have disintegrated, but they're out there, hidden in closets with the amps and guitars.
