The basics are these: This forum started as the Taylor Guitar Forum way back in 2000. J.R. Rogers started it as such with the express permission of Taylor. Around 2003, Taylor decided they wanted more control of their brand than could be had with there being a separate forum out there bearing their name, so they demanded that J.R. remove the name to break the association. No modification would be allowed, the Taylor name had to come off. So, this forum was renamed the Acoustic Guitar Forum at that point. This forum has done nothing except grow from that moment forward. We kept a Taylor subforum for a while and then closed it and merged its posts into the General Acoustic Guitar Discussion subforum.

Since then another forum out there on the web was granted the ability to call itself the Unofficial Taylor Guitar Forum.

So, there you go.

Thanks, Bob for answering. I wasn't sure how it all went down. Both of my shirts are still in pretty much new condition. I think I've only had one on. Just brought back some memories. Two people kind of stood out to me when I first joined. There was a guy named Ryan that took time to answer a lot of questions for me, and Steve Parr. He sold me a Taylor Special 600 Series guitar way back when. Don't have any of my Taylors anymore, and may be part of the reason the shirts haven't been worn.
