We can get some pretty bad humidity here in Upstate New York in the summer, that’s for sure.

Wow that's pretty mild Bruce, probably from having the ocean so close by. It's pretty warm up here, today (& tomorrow too by the looks of things) max up around 38 (100F).

Ouch!! Oh well rain coming tomorrow apparently & things might cool down a bit. Been pretty lucky this summer that we've been regularly getting at least one day of rain or showers each week. Still surprisingly green up here for this time of year, normally looking baked by now.

Not green like your part of the world though. Did a 2 day ride a few weeks back to Tathra & back. Turned back inland at Pambula. You'd know where these 2 are. First one's on Myrtle Mtn Rd near Wyndham, next one's at the Wyndham General Store for a refuel (both bike & body, nice little café there)

The birdlife is pretty active here too. Yep we have koels going all day & all night, lorikeets in from the coast, corellas in from god knows where, a boobook (or mopoke) owl somewhere nearby, been hearing it's hoots of a night & all the other usual players.

Nice, the Snowy Mountain Highway finishes at Tathra - they had shocking fires there just last March.

Isn't it ironic a road called the Snowy Mtns Highway ends on a clifftop at the sea's edge. That's right where I stayed the night, at the motel section of the Tathra Pub. Great way to end the day, watching a wild ocean from the balcony while munching on oysters and salt & pepper squid, washed down with a local pale ale .

They've done some impressive renovations there but it seems the whole town in general has been spurred into action on the back of those dreadful fires. Didn't see too much of the devastation as I was mostly on the part near the highway which luckily escaped the flames. It looked pretty bad from what I did see of the beach & toward the inlet but it's pretty inspiring the way they are rebuilding the town already.
