at first i thought the OP meant what sides of the strings when strumming or picking and i was ready to say, both sides. then i figured that the question was where to keep the pick. i have a small shotglass that i keep a variety of picks, size-wise and material-wise. i just pour them out and pick one(pun not intended) to match the guitar i'm playing and whether or not i'll be singing.

play music!

I keep my picks, tuner and capo in gold/brass boxes which I keep in the case accessory box.
That way you never lose valuable accessories and you are ALWAYS prepared.
THIS, absolutely!

Except my boxes aren't gold/brass, they are 'Canadian Moose Droppings' boxes which I've picked up over the years during my meanderings around ON, AB, and BC.

And the original contents of the boxes were delicious!

"Inside the guitar." Yeah, unintentionally. I still have a few in there.

Man, we’re really doing a deep dive in to guitargeekness here. I use the treble strings. Never really thought about it. Just the way I’ve always done it.

I buy my picks in 72-packs. I don't think there's a piece of furniture in this house that hasn't got its own pick.

Yes, that's one of my private stashes as well, Wade.

You would have laughed at me for being a wise guy.
2 of those picks fell in the soundhole after I took that shot.
Karma.

I keep my picks in the same metal Sucrets Lozenge box I've used since the 1970s.

The box stays in the guitar case under the guitar's neck.

In a small, wooden bowl that's about the size of half of a big orange. It's heavy and never tips and wherever the guitars are, the bowl is. It has about 20 various picks, thumb-picks etc., and every time I play my hand goes into it...like walking into church and dipping your hand into that little bowl of holy water to bless yourself.
