I agree with this! Her "at home during Covid" vids were fantastic. Her CDs (at least the ones I've heard & bought) IMO are a little over produced, w/too many hands in the fire, & too much techno. Love the raw acoustic stuff!

I've always liked her music but this song sealed the deal for me. Speaks to me on so many levels...

What a cool video. Both her voice and that guitar sound so good!

Another fan here.
I also watched every episode of her Home Videos during the Covid Lockdown.
They always lifted my spirits and I looked forward to each new episode.

Definitely my favorite too - going to see her and Shawn Colvin together in October at a relatively small venue.

Saw MCC with Sean Colvin, might have been the Ryman. Saw her on the Lantern Tour for migrants with several others like Emmy Lou and Jerry Douglas. Thumbs up.

Add me to the list of fans. I have always liked her, but her songs from home during Covid was really special. As she would say, “stay mighty.”

I think I had only come across her once on a series of transatlantic sessions. This is a lovely song. I shall listen to more ..

On a tangentially flippant note, I see she is using a shubb capo. Given the slightly mad capo interest (and heated debate) in this forum, should we start a new thread on the lines of whether or not Mary Chapin Carpenter needs to change her capo to a yoke style capo?

Mary Chapin Carpenter was one of the best things happening musically in the 90s but I saw her for the first time only last year. (I still need to see Shawn Colvin and Sheryl Crow). While born in New Jersey, her songs appealed to the country folk and she won four consecutive "Best Female Country Vocal Performance" between 1992 and 1995.

"Come On, Come On" produced seven hit singles and was a quadruple platinum album. One song from that album, "Only a Dream" is crazy good and if you've never heard it, you should dial it up (but have some tissue with you).

Yep, "My Heaven" was inspired by the book "The Lovely Bones".

The author (Alice Sebold) went to the high school one town over from us and the movie (directed by Peter Jackson) was filmed all over our area. I'll actually be driving past the street where they lived (in the movie) later today.
