If you really want it, go on the Facebook group "Tony Rice Rulz!" and message there. I'll bet dollars to donuts that if a picture exists the mod John D. Dill will have it. He's an encyclopedia of Tony Rice knowledge.

I have not seen any. Brian Sutton does use electric occasionally, and I know Doc Watson did, but I'm not sure about Rice.

I had to go way back into the archives to find this one. I may have another up in the attic, I'll have a look.

This is the only photo I've ever seen of Doc playing electric.
Tony and Norman use mics rather than pickups in their guitars.

That is a truly wonderful picture of Doc. The ones of Tony got me grinning as well.

I am sure that the Tony Rice pictures are photoshopped.

Norman Blake rocked that guitar! IIRC, he played a Cheap Trick tribute song on it that he wrote for Rick.

Ha, laughable really, but that's all part of the fun. Look at Tony Page's neck and it will make you wonder.

Also above is Tony's cousin, Keith Rice, who played with the Tumbling Rocks.

gr81dorn, I love the look on his face, so blasé .

But who is this zen master of crosspicking?
