After Christmas I'll have some more pics of the body completely finished sanded so keep a eye out. Looks even better with the top trim and beveled binding.

Default Off to finish

Had a great week on the MD. It's already at the finishers and ready for him to do his magic. Here are some pics of the MD. I really like how my Signature Series details turned out on it. Like the beveled binding, crossgrain Brazilian top trim, and bookmatched backplate.

Default More pics

Here's some more pics. The first one is a shot head on to get a overall feel for the Modified Dread shape. I've never been a huge fan of the bulky shape of traditional dreads. So this MD definitely soften things up. I am very happy with the results. Thanks for looking!

That’s one of the nicest mod dreads I’ve ever seen..

I love how every edge/surface/heel cap/headstock appears to have some degree of bevel on it!

Makes the guitars appearance flow together...

So very clean and tasteful. Maybe you could post a couple of shots of the rosette in progress - I can only imagine how it is done. I love the shape. I would never consider building a D body because I find them unattractive, but this one reminds me of the dreadnaught ukulele that Ditson had Martin build before the guitar D body (if I recall), but prettier:

Hate this format because I can't figure out how to post a picture

Thanks for posting this

Ed

Thanks Todd! It does seem when I build one at a time that it goes quick.

Thanks for the comment I appreciate it! I put a 45° bevel on all the edges on my Signature Series guitars. It does seem to give the guitar a different vibe than my guitars in my Standard Series.

Thanks Ed for the comments! I did a rosette that was similar to this rosette a couple years ago. I happened to make a video of me making it. Hopefully this link will work so people can see it. The video will pretty much show you how I do it. Thanks for looking!
