Nicely done, I really like the spalted inlay in the back strip! Nice color combo with the Oak.

Thanks Tom.

I'm especially glad you like the salted part. I liked it but its definitely not traditional. spaltedness will find it's way to other parts of this guitar

Smile Pretty Oak

Things are coming along quite nicely it appears!

Played two gigs for a total of five hours yesterday.

I may get these pesky Christmas tunes dialed again before Christmas yet. Haha

Those bevels really make a difference, and so do the awesome slim necks John has kindly made for me!

A very Merry HO HO HO and groovy tunes to all

Paul

Thanks Paul

You're going to wear those guitars out before you can get the next one built.
What Christmas tunes are you working on?

Smile Chestnuts...

STANDARD TUNING DOWN WHOLE STEP. Chestnuts in C6, so capo 2. personal fave.
Wassail, White Christmas, more... a lot of "standard tuning" I use a drop D capo or two capos...

SLIDE in OPEN D:
Away in a manger, frosty the snowman, grandma got run over by a reindeer, which is great because it only has 2 cords! Feliz Navidad, (or drop D.)
Silent Night,

Etc, Etc. I just finished translating jingle bell rock to slide in open D. Soon I won't have to think about it so much...

If I had learned the chords when I was young I would probably retain a lot more.

Merry HO HO HO

Paul

Default This box is nearly done

I’m going to have Tony do a tobacco burst all over.

Shop made purring made of the same wood as the rosette.

It taps out very nicely.

Thanks for looking.

Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Will we see updates on the persimmon guitar soon, John? I am dying to see how that one turns out. I think it will be a real beauty.

Bro, is this your first oak parlor? I love the combination of oak with a small body. A match made in heaven.
It's looking good!

The persimmon guitar is not going to Li a Conner so I am pushing these La Conner offerings hard to get ready for the show. More will be seen soon

Thanks bro. Yes, first oak guitar would of any size. I'm surprised at what a fine wood this oak is.

Tobacco burst? That's a little out of your norm John. What made you decide to do a burst? I LOVE bursts and I think it will look awesome. Looking forward to see what the master Tony does with it!

Thanks Mike

I'm fond of bursts too if there is no red. Cannot say exactly why this one gets it other than I'm working with color here and I think it will look better with the burst.

Default The B/W Ebony off to see tony

I dont expect to see it again for 8 weeks. Tony is a busy man.

I decided to go with a fingerboard of the same material to give it a little more "come hither" look in that cooperative environment at la conner.
