You gotta keep your 810 though. I can’t be by myself as the only Taylor dread fan left on the forum haha.
Thank you so much! Oh, don't worry! The 810 is going NOWHERE!!

And it just keeps getting better! I have a very early OM model, and it still amazes me every time I pick it up and play. Congrats!

Good to hear!

One day I’m going to go to Nashville or somewhere similar that has guitars such as a Borgeois, Santa Cruz, Collings etc and sit down and play some. I saw a few Collings and Santa Cruz’s at Rudy’s in New York but they were locked on the stands and the only worker disappeared in the back for several minutes so I didn’t have time to play them. I’ve always wanted to experience these high quality brands since reading about them on the forum.

I enjoyed your thoughts on how it compared to the Taylor. You’ve got two great but different sounds there.

That's what I keep telling myself! This guitar is a 2014 but is NEW! There's not a mark on it anywhere and almost no friction wear on the fretboard from fingers, so I know it's got a lot more inside it that it will continue to give me once it starts to fully open up. The endpin had never even been installed, so either its been sitting in some ones collection or was sitting in a store for some time.

Congratulations on your Bourgeois SS. Beautiful guitar! I have a 2017 Bourgeois Vintage D with torrefied adirondack spruce top and double scalloped "Banjo Killer" bracing. It is an absolute BG cannon.

So I'm a couple of weeks in with this guitar and it makes me WANT to play guitar! I've got it out of the case and played it 4 or 5 different times today! I am starting to discover the appeal of these boutique guitars now that I've played it a lot more. While Taylor makes a fantastic guitar, this Bourgeois is just unbelievable. Effortless to play and the tones that come out of this thing are so amazing. No matter what style you're playing, it just delivers! If you're lightly picking it, the notes just ring out crystal clear for you to hear and then when I dig in for bluegrass rhythm, it opens up and lets it rip! It's louder than my 1995 810 by a long shot. I think it's safe to say that I'm now a divided home! Taylor & Bourgeois guitars for me and not necessarily in that order! If you've never had the chance to play one, I think you should try and find a shop that carries them and give one a play! You won't be disappointed and you might just end up taking it home!!

I agree with Dwight. Definitely an awesome looking guitar, and love that fiddleback on it!
Great find!

Put a set of John Pearse Pure Nickel mediums on the guitar last night and they’ve brought out even more clarity from this guitar. So far I like them better than the JP Phosphor Bronze mediums.

Congrats, what a beautiful guitar. I can relate to what you are going through. I’ve loved every Taylor I have owned but when I jumped to the Collings/Santa Cruz/Froggy Bottom level of guitar build, there’s just something extra there tonally and it’s to be expected given the cost difference.

Except for Bourgeois, Elderly carries all of those brands. I have from time to time seen used Bourgeois there. I was particularly smitten with an OM 28 they had some years back. It was a very special guitar -just too expensive for me at that time.

Default Surely a keeper

Dana makes fantastic guitars. I'm an ex owner of a Bourgeois vintage OM and I still miss the tone sometimes.
