Default Emerald with Ghost Pickup

I see that you can order Emerald X20s now with the GraphTech Ghost pickup system. Anyone have this yet that would care to share their opinion?

The Ghost bridge/pickup has been offered for the X10 for some time. For amplified sound, there shouldn't be much difference.

Anyone have an opinion of the ghost compared to the the Baggs Element? Just looking for the best warm acoustic tone.

?? I recall some AGFers writing that Emerald said for best acoustic tone the X10 multi bridge saddle should be replaced with the lighter single bridge saddle.

Hi Casualmusic,
I just ordered an X7 with the Ghost + K&K and I specifically asked Davy if there would be any deadening of the sound acoustically with that pickup combination. He wrote back, "The guitar isnt muted at all with the different systems."

My X30 was special ordered with a K&K Mini. I’ve had a lot of Baggs’ pickups in the past and the Mini is the best of the bunch, IMO. Far more “woody” and natural than I expected.

On April 30th I ordered a custom X-20 with Hexpander midi system with ghost piezo, special neck, wood veneer top, etc . I had an Anthem in the last one and it was great but I was assured there would be no drop off in tone , so we’ll see.

I'm very curious to know how this pickup system handles feedback. With round sound holes (e.g. my Rainsong), I can plug the sound hole up with a feedback buster and am practically immune to feedback. But Emerald guitars don't have as easy of a solution I don't think.

The thing that makes me ask is that I'm looking for an amplified nylon solution. I'm particular in that I play almost exclusively in the classical playing position, and am only really comfortable with a real acoustic-sized guitar body (so I'd prefer not to get a thin body nylon electric like a Godin Multiac). I have an X20 Nylon that's pretty perfect. Now that the ghost system is available (allows us to control intonation and action, and we can also blend it with K&Ks), I just need to have some reasonable confidence I can play amplified with others and not have too much of a feedback issue.

I did ask Emerald about how their X10 is resistant to feedback (it was something that they mentioned in one of their X10 videos I believe), and instead of answering me, they directed me to a Youtube video, of which didn't tell me HOW it was feedback resistant, just that it was. I mention this only in that I understand the ghost pickups are also used on the X10 model, which is supposedly resistant to feedback. But I've no technical understanding of how it is any more resistant to feedback than a standard undersaddle piezo would be. And if it's not, I can tell you that with my Rainsong, I do need a feedback buster from time to time to keep it under control (well, I've used a notch filter and/or inverted the phase before to do it too, but ain't nothing so simple as stuffing the hole with a plug).

Any experience or thoughts on this would be appreciated!

For what it is worth, I just connected my nylon X7 to a GR-55 and AER amp and I did not have any problems with feedback. However, I did not have any feedback with the Ghost-piezo either. I will be interested to see if anybody else has experienced any issues.

Default Emerald with Ghost Pickup

Below is a video demo of an Emerald X20 equipped with the Graphtech Ghost Pickup and K&K. At approximately 1:40 into the demo you can hear the Ghost pickup played with the K&K volume off. Later you hear the K&K alone and then both blended:
