No Hard Feelings - The Avett Brothers

Here's the first verse, but I suggest you check out the full song lyrics. This is definitely the song I want people to hear at my funeral.

When my body won't hold me anymore
And it finally lets me free
Will I be ready?
When my feet won't walk another mile
And my lips give their last kiss goodbye
Will my hands be steady?

"Broke down Palace" by the Grateful Dead...sang it twice at memorials....kind of like an alternative to Amazing Grace....

Sorry for your loss. I agree that any choice should be discussed with the family but this is my suggestion.

This is tough. Before my friend passed at 53 she requested 'How long will I love you' by Ellie Goulding which was quite nice.

Hope all goes peacefully.

This is true and my sons have their orders to play it at mine. However, could be received poorly by some, such a request has to come from the family.

I think it depends a lot on how the family wants the feel of the music to be.

There are a lot of great suggestions already, but whatever you choose, I would try to pick something that doesn't personally choke you up too much. It would be easy to break down in these circumstances.

My sincere condolences.

I will add to the list: The Rainbow Connection, Where Rainbows never die

Good luck. Tough task.

At my father in law's funeral my wife's cousin (fiddle) and I played Ashokan Farewell. There are many instrumental versions suitable for just guitar.
