I have them on my Breedlove Masterclass Auditorium for the first time (walnut /Sitka).

As per others they are lasting a really long time, they are a bit stiffer than the DR rares/ sunbeams I typically run, and I now like the tone although it's chimeier / brighter.

When I first put them on I almost took them off as I didn't care for the tone but they seemed to settle in nicely and I really like them with a capo playing up the neck.

Been loving them for awhile on my 45s
They just seem more natural sounding and not as brash as some
of those pbs and 80 20s on the mkt.
Also seem softer on the old fingers.
imho

I, personally do not like Nickel Bronze strings. Don’t like the sound, and don’t like the feel. I love Martin Lifespan Sp 92/8 strings. I use them on all my acoustics (except the La Patrie, obviously), as I think they have great balance, longevity, and great bass.

Default Let me just say this about these strings

I have a Taylor GA4 that for few years was on and off the market.
I like the guitar, but because of a couple other purchases, it wasn't getting much play time.
On a whim I put on a set of the D Addario NB lights on it, and the sound was awesome.
I had been using Martin PB lights on it and it sounded good, but the NB strings really brought out a lot deeper (depth) tone. The guitar isn't quite as loud, but the sound is awesome. Strummed cords have a lot more depth. As far as longevity on this guitar they start to show their age soundwise quicker than other guitars that I have them on.
As a rule, I like them on hogg guitars, and on my Cherry backed Martin OM.
They are definitely in the rotation on my 2017 000-18 Martin.
I use the light strings on it and have not had any issues.
They are good strings, and do add a different dimension to some guitars.
Try a set worst case scenario is you make a string change sooner than you had planned.

I think they're very good: they're balanced with a slightly less prominent high end than D'Addario PBs and 80/20s. The effect for me is of a more refined sound.

But . . . I still prefer the PBs and on a couple of my guitars the 80/20s. These seem more alive and vivid.

I might try the DA Med-Lights next.

My experience is similar. I put these on my Bourgeois OM right after a set of Martin Retros and liked them better, though I couldn't really pin down the difference. In my experience they definitely last longer than that Retros.

I like them a lot on my 000-42. Tried them on my Hog bodied Eastman and didn't like them as much on that one.

They're on my top 3 of go-to strings for all my acoustic guitars. Sound great, last a long time. Feel nice. D'Addario player's circle has got me a fair amount of "free" strings and apparel over the years now.

Just put a set on my Eastman E10D, and liked them immediately. As mentioned, they have a nice depth to them. So far I will definitely be buying more sets in the future.

Loud and clear - I really liked them ... until I found DR Sunbeams.

p.s. I still think NB's are fantastic on my Guild F-412.

They are now my go to string choice for my guitars. Rosewood with Sitka top, Mahogany with Adirondack, Hog with Alpine Spruce...from my little Brunner Outdoor Guitar to my 00, 000, dread & GS...Love 'em for many reasons stated already.

Just curious Bruce -- how would you compare DR Sunbeams with NB's? What did you like more about DR Sunbeams ? (Tone, projection, "volume", whatever). THANKS!

I have loved them on several guitars, and not on others. And the weird thing is they all had the same wood combos! I really liked them on my Martin D18 and my Eastman E1OM, but I do not care for them at all on my Larrivee. Go figure.

They are very long lasting and they do sound great (when they work on your guitar).

I’m loving the new Daddario XT on my Larrivee, FWIW.

I like a warm tone in a guitar and I find the Sunbeams are exceptionally well balanced with a nice string-to-string separation - I even tried DR Rares back to back with Sunbeams to see if there was much difference between round-cores and hex-cores - and there's just something my ears prefer with the Sunbeams.
NB's are still very, very good and I still keep some in my' new string' box but at the moment I have Sunbeams on 3 guitars and they sound great ... but I might just go back to John Pearse Pure Nickels on my maple Huss & Dalton!

Thanks Bruce! Haven't tried NB yet, but I have DR Sunbeams on 2 of my guitars and really like the sound and feel.
