Default when did Martin OM and OOO switch to 1 3/4" nut?

I've posted elsewhere about my quest to find an OM 21 or 28 with a 1 11/16" nut. Yesterday I fell in love with and purchased a 1971 000-18 with a 1 11/16" nut. Recent OM and OOO models all have 1 3/4" nut, so obviously they switched from 1 11/16" at some point. I'm wondering if there are similar older model OMs with this skinny nut, and if so, what would the cutoff year(s) be for my search?

OM models have pretty much always had 1 3/4". The 000 switched over in 2014, I think.

Congrats on your 000-18!

The only Martin OM I'm aware of with the narrower 1 11/16" nut is he John Mayor model.

That is correct. And they had to go and ruin it with a signature on the fretboard.

There's always the custom shop.

They went wider at the nut about the same time they went extremely narrow at the saddle spacing. I never did see the logic ..... There are enough "custom shops" out there, that it shouldn't be a problem finding one. There's a nice 000-28 custom sunburst & cutaway on the forum FS right now, with a 1 11/16" nut.
