Default Sukiyaki

This tune popped in my brain the other week and set me to thinking: "I gotta relearn that". So, I'm talking to a friend yesterday and I brought up "Sukiyaki" and how I needed to get it under my fingers again and he said: "You did a version on YouTube, look it up".

Well, here it is from 6 years ago (and yes, I did relearn it...pretty simple tune and I just love the changes).

Played on my Neil Gardiner Concert. It sounds like the guitar is plugged into an amp for some "spacial enhancement" (aka reverb), you're mainly hearing the guitar acoustically, picked up on the Zoom video microphones. Headphones recommended if you have 'em.

It's in standard tuning. I learned it too after hearing Tommy Emmanuel's version. Nice tune, well played, thanks for posting. It's one of those tunes that was a hit way back, and when some folks hear it now they stop and re-appreciate it. Very sad lyrics, but kind of fun sounding fingerstyle.

And Pat Donohue's parody of Sukiyaki:
