Default "Taffy"

Recording from several years back in untreated room and noisy computer. Just played around with some equalization and reverb to see if I could smooth some hard edges off.

Great, Derek! Always pristine with your recordings and so precise with your playing. Such interesting melodies you bring to your pieces!!
Thanks,
Fred

Thanks guys.

Islandguitar, good to know "pristine" comes to mind. This was recorded back in 2006 before I got a quiet computer and before did any room acoustic treatment.
Somewhat harsh on some notes which I just recently tried to smooth out somewhat with FabFilter Pro Q.

Thanks, Derek! Needless to say, I think it's all working for you quite nicely!

Hello Derek,
That song was very enjoyable, thanks for posting it. However, I didn’t care for the sound of the trebles as much as your more recent recordings that I have some familiarity with; could you share what guitar was being played and your recording chain?

From that time period probably my Blanchard guitar, Microtech Gefell M300 mikes, Great River pre amp, RME ADI-2, Windows XP

Gear was good, room acoustics and computer noise not. Perhaps some DAW export issues also.

Fixed those issues so for example the same guitar on a newer recording: http://dcoombsguitar.com/CDFive/WhereToDemo.mp3

Hi, I listened all the way through and that's a good sign!

Very nicely played and , yes a very clean sound.
