I spent yesterday cleaning the roof gutters (or eavestroughs, a much nicer word they use elsewhere) in preparation for the snow. With weeks of accumulated ash, it was more like being a chimney sweep, or cleaning ashtrays after a party. Ugh.

Even this kind of a dump won't completely put out the fires (we already had a good storm in September, and everything quickly re-kindled) but will be a huge help to containment. Let it snow!
