Default Dlutowski guitars

I randomly came across this today, I'd never heard of them, have you? The forum search gave me nothing. They seem to be based in Madrid and specialists in nylon string guitars. Evan, I'm sure you will be interested, the final link is for you. They seem to claim that they are Europe's first carbon fibre guitar builders, but when reading the interview with him, he specifies that he's the first to build flamenco guitars with CF.

Mr. Bermudez' playing in the last YouTube link was mesmerizing!

Sir;

Wow! Right at the guitar center of the universe, a revolution. It looks to me like this is the guitar that John has been looking for, and a reasonable price.

I listened to the sources you listed and read the interview. I was surprised to read that Dlutowski has been making CF guitar for only a year--and has produced an amazing product.

I was also surprised to see what appears to be wooden bracing.

And I am awestruck at the speed and precision of Enrique Bermudez.

Thank you for this introduction to yet another turn in guitar revolution.

Sir!

Well, get busy, give a hand, volunteer some help. This is hot stuff. One of the big questions has been whether classical guitarists will accept a different medium; it's almost religious. I wait with bated breath.

I once lived in Madrid, have very good friends there and my wife has close family there too. A visit to Dlutowski guitars may be on the cards sooner or later.

Sir;

One service we could do for this new CF offering is to email an English translation of the site front page. I considered the task, but I have lost any fluency I might have once had.

If you could do it, it would be a great introduction for when you make a visit. Just a thought.

Sir;

Another service you might offer to Dlutowski guitars is the suggestion that the site needs a blind comparison between the CF and a stellar wooden instrument.

In the thread dealing with the resistance to CF guitars by classical players there is an almost visceral reaction against the change in medium--some of that resistance might fade if classical players guessed, and failed, to determine which was which.

Sirwhale;

I've returned to the this thread several times; thank you for bringing it to the forum.

I envy you the possible trip to Madrid for a test run. Since Dlutowski also make traditional wooden instruments you will get the pleasure of direct contrast and comparison of CF and wood (as well a visit to the Prado in your spare time).

It looks to me that the Dlutowski, like the other old world CF guitar, the Leviora, is made with traditional craftsmanship and a contemporary medium. Both instruments seems to not have the contemporary ergonomic features that I've come to appreciate and like as I age.

They are interesting choices in the growing field of nylon string carbon fiber guitars.

The Dlutowski sounds great on my iPad - igniting yet more guitar lust.

Mr. Bermudez plays very polished and fluent traditional Flamenco! I believe that he is playing a Farruca, with the intro very traditional and similar to Sabicas’ intro to his Farruca “Punta y Tacon” from his “Flamenco Puro” LP circa 1960, as transcribed a decade or so later by Joseph Trotter.

AC;

Thank you. It would appear that I have the same problem with English that I have with Spanish. I suppose I should say "duh."

I found the English, but not the information I would like. In particular, body size.
