Many mixing boards high EQ is centered on 12Khz. Pretty high maybe even for getting rid of some unwanted scrapes, and rubs. The 10khz on many preamps (DTAR Solstice and some others) might be good for this.
Odd that the high EQ on many devices designed for guitar are higher than a guitar actually produces. Might be OK for transients though. I'm now a little torn on what to use for the second source. The guitar will have a humbucker (Armstrong 12 pole) for a traditional jazz tone, but you guys have me questioning the K&K pickup versus a microphone. Possibly something like a DPA 4099.
