GHS Muriel Anderson Strings
Anybody have any experience with these? I am thinking about ordering a set, but I thought I'd ask before I do. You might talk me out of it.

I have used the Doyle Dykes ones and liked them. I think the difference is (1) the string guages, and (2) the tension. The Doyle strings are hard tension and the muriel's are regular (or medium?)

I have tried the Muriel Anderson set and liked them on my guitar. They sound almost identical to D'Addario pro arte basses coupled with D'Addario titanium trebles. I like the fact that the Muriel Anderson set comes with titanium trebles and that you don't have to buy them separately like the D'Addarios. The other thing is that the GHS titaniums are clear, whereas the D'Addarios are purple. I like the titanium trebles because they have the "snappiness"of attack that regular nylon has coupled with the "brightness" of the carbon trebles.

I went ahead and ordered a set. I'll let you know what I think, once they come and I have a chance to play them.

Did your strings come yet? I'm curious to hear how you like or dislike them...

A quick response...
The stings have come and I have them on. It has taken several days for the them to stretch out and stabilize. They are pretty much there, now. To my ear the strings have a bright, crisp sound, very pure. The bass strings have strong, solid bass tone. The trebles ring nicely. I think I like the strings. I intend to leave them on, anyway. I'll try and post more, as I have more experience with them. Jack

Yes, please keep us posted. I have never tried these strings but am curious about them. If they are brighter than the D'addario Pro Arte's then I will probably pass. Bright is not what I am looking for.

Hi Toni
I'm not sure I would say 'brighter', maybe purer. They have a very balanced sound from top to bottom. Now, if you want that really warm, dark, (almost muddy) nylon treble sound then these might not be good strings for you. Jack

I think I will give them a try next string change.

The great thing about trying new strings is it is a low investment. When you try them, let us know what you think.
