If I had to guess, and since i do not recall i do have to guess, I would say that i have purchased around 30 to 40 guitars over the course of my life. All but 2 were new. The used ones were a guild D-25 back in the mid 80s and 73 Fender Strat back in the mid 90s. Still have the Strat.

My next guitar (Pre re-imagined D-35 Ambertone) will most likely be used. Can't find any old-new stock

I don't buy used guitars. Plain and simple. Not for me. I have enough problems with new products in general terms, let alone used ones.

I've bought a few new guitars...but prefer to buy used for many reasons that have less to do with initial price, and more to do with the supporting the guitar community. That, and because most that I've gotten from AGF members and from others I know and trust...I know they've been lovingly played a lot, and they've opened up a bit.

I've owned well over 100 guitars. I don't have a specific count, but most... I'd guess 80% have been used. I prefer buying used. I'm a luthier/tech, so a manufacturers warranty holds little value for me. Some of the guitars I've bought have had some issues that have allowed me to purchase at reduced prices, and I've been able to repair.

My Strat and Les Paul were purchased used (for very good prices) from my local Sam Ash.

I have owned 13 guitars all together, 11 of which were new. One was given to me by a friend whose late husband had played it professionally. The other used one was also the only guitar I purchased without having played it first. I have kept that one 18 years, so apparently the purchase worked out.

I have 2 that I bought used out of my current inventory of 10. When I buy used I make sure there are no cracks, belly bulge, lifted bridge, hump where the neck meets the top and that there is good saddle showing. I also check the relief, the tuners, etc.

My Larrivee OM-05 and Guild D120 are the two used acquisitions.

I've got to be somewhere in the upper 20s in terms of guitars owned over the last 9 years of playing, and I would say 40% were bought new and 60% were used.

No issues at all buying used, and in you can get some great guitars, especially quality boutiques right here in the AGF classifieds from honest members who actually take care of their instruments.

I’ve owned well over 100 guitars in 55 years. 90% bought used. That number speaks for itself.

Five electrics, one was purchased used, and three acoustics, one of which was used. All the rest were new.

I've bought 9 guitars to date. 4 new, 5 used. I was never disappointed with the used ones, 3 of which I never played before purchasing.

I think in my lifetime, I've owned about 100+/- guitars.

All have been used but about 6 guitars that I bought new.

I only buy guitars in person, so I get to audition every guitar to make sure it sounds and plays good.

I also get to see if there's any issues with the guitars before I purchase them.

I've walked away from A LOT of guitars over the years because they just didn't impress me enough to take them home.

At this point in my life, there's no reason for me to HAVE to buy any new guitar, even if I deserve it, and can afford it.

I'd rather find a great used quality guitar,so I can get the best back for my buck.

The Nick Lucas and Guild I got used. The Guild is really easy to play and has a great sound, as is the Nick Lucas. I love them just as much as the other two

I've owned 8 guitars in over 30 years of playing. All were bought used, except one. I was lucky in getting a great deal on a lifetime guitar when I was 18. It's been my main guitar since and I hope to play it until I die. I have a few other guitars around just for variety and for rough use. I've liked all the guitars I've owned in one way or another. No regrets at all!
