Default Turnstone Guitar Company- TG Multi-Scale and TS Build Thread

We currently have two guitars in build with turnstone guitars, and are delighted to have received some photographs and updates from Rosie Heydenrych.

The first of these models is a TG multi-scale (fan fret) stunning flamed Koa on the back and sides teamed with a flawless Alpine Spruce set on the soundboard. The TG model is currently the largest turnstone offers and can be closely related to a Grand Auditorium with a Dreadnought influence.

The multi-sale design of the scale length increases the bass presence and the ability to drop tune, whilst shortening the treble scale a considrable amount creates sweet, warmer tones which would usually be associated with a shorter scale length. This fan fret design is aesthetically going to be incorporated into the visuals across the guitar, extending the 'fan' into the headstock and rosette as well.

This model will feature a full Benjamin inspired scoop cutaway for increased fret access, and to bring it all together the body will be binded in Ebony with a red Padauk trim.

The second instrument is a TS model with some gorgeous English Yew back and sides and a master grade German Spruce soundboard. The TS is the smallest model and is purposefully designed around the 12-fret join, putting the bridge in the optimum sweet spot.

Yew is tonally strong, light and highly reflective. It imparts such a sweet and clear colouration to the overall tone.

Beautiful guitars! Not even finished yet, but beautiful.

I'm always intrigued with luthiers who use non traditional woods.
