It arrived safely yesterday, and I was able to have an hour or so play time with it last night.
I uploaded a couple of videos to the AGF Open Mic Facebook page for comparison, and so far everyone agrees that the MV88+ makes a big improvement over the standard phone microphone.
I've only used the Acoustic recording function at this time, with a flat EQ, but more experimentation is required!
Thanks to everyone for participating in this thread, it made the decision to purchase that much easier!

Getting on each other's nerves at home? Here's a Friday "stayin' at home" video: I'm the Scum that Pays the Rent...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YDV...ature=youtu.be

Done with the Shure MV88+ into an iPhone; just a guy and a guitar (Emerald X7).

A true song of summer for this "stayin' at home" video. As usual, with the MV88+ and an iPhone. Close mic'ed on my Bose S1 Pro, mic setting on "loud"... easy to control the gain with the meters on the screen of the Motiv Video app.

A cover of the Van Morrison song, but with a slight change, 'cause my Honey has pretty blue eyes...

Did a concert on Saturday night through Facebook Live using the MV88+.
Admittedly, I haven't had a chance to look at it myself, and listen to it through headphones yet, but if you are interested in having a listen, please check out the link below.
Settings:
Recorded on a Samsung S9 Mobile Phone, Acoustic Preset option. Gain turned up to full, some EQ adjustment, and microphone angle narrowed slightly.

https://www.facebook.com/daniel.quai...0256046697965/

Video is pretty poor quality at only 360p, but I'm not sure if that is all Facebook allows.
My dad reckons the guitar was too loud, but like I said, I'll have a listen to it tonight to check it over.
Any comment would be appreciated.

BTW, I'm looking into a double adapter for allowing power to be supplied to the phone while using the microphone. I had approx 98% battery when I started recording, and after 1hr20mins, I still had 34% left over.
I've found this item - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/a...-combo-adapter
Just waiting on a response from the manufacturer to see if this would work before spending the money.
Will update when I hear more.

I'm pretty sure FB will let you go up to at least 720p.

Hmm, I'll have to look further into that. Thanks for the tip.

Can confirm, this style of double adapter works a treat.

When you first post a video to Facebook, Facebook does a quick low quality render so that you can see it immediately, but it doesn’t stop working on the file. The algorithm keeps churning away in the background, gradually improving the video quality.

While initially it will look terrible, an hour or two later it looks a whole lot better.

Another "stayin' at home" video with the MV88+... feeling a bit nostalgic today about "the good ol' days"... back when we could go to a movie, a ballgame, or out for a nice restaurant experience. You know: about 4 or 5 months ago.

That led me to pulling out this Beatles song -

Looking at 64 in the rear view mirror.

I saw a nicely produced video here on the Acoustic Guitar Forum by a gentleman who used to do television production - it had nice lighting, a camera on a moving rail to provide some subtle panning, and decent audio. It kind of inspired me to class up my video today... I put on a shirt with a collar.

The Shure MV88+ into an iPhone 11 Pro...

A Thursday edition of the "stayin' at home" videos...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAfH...ature=youtu.be

Made with the Shure MV88+ mic (video kit) and iPhone 11 Pro. Guitar is an Emerald X10, acoustically.

One last "stayin' at home" video for a while, because we plan to hit the road in a few days. This one is another original that my music partner Mark and I wrote: Because You...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlqf...ature=youtu.be

Made with the Shure MV88+ and an iPhone 11 Pro.

This is the solo acoustic version; if you want to hear the full band link on SoundCloud:

I had a failure with the MV88 today, next to no volume.
I ended up removing the microphone and did my concert through the phones own internal microphones.
I had convinced my semi retired Dad to perform with me this afternoon.
He prefers to be fishing these days, and his hands are starting to hurt if he plays too long. Still for a 75yo, he's still goes strong!!
We have different tastes in country music, so it's pretty rare for us to share the stage.
You will hear the poor sound right at the start, but it comes right towards the end of the first song.

I figured out the issue. I must have accidentally hit the "Loud" setting when checking I had everything set up correctly. It reduces the gain hugely, and everything was so quiet.
