I'd be hard-pressed to have 3 of the exact same guitar unless I was actively touring and needed backup copies of the 'one' guitar I used. I've got a Baja (which has the vintage vibe without the cost), a '90s MIJ Telecaster custom, and a G&L Bluesboy semi-hollow with a humbucker in the neck. They should different, but the basic playability is very similar between the three of them. If I had to get it down to 1, I'd keep the Baja. Form and function with no frills or nonsense.

Honestly, I have two too many for where I’m at these days. I’ll be working on solidifying my guitar mix this year. I just need a good OM rosewood, mahogany, 12 string, and decent electric.
That is until next year, when I again decide I need either more, less, or different guitars.

Usually never more than two or three at a time. What those guitars are has
changed considerably over the decades. Right now I have a GS mini, a Cordoba C9 and a Cordoba Fusion Orch. |

Too many. They are all great and cover a large spectrum of sound. I think the count is 5 six strings, a resonator, a classical, a 12 string and two electrics. It’s just too many. I hold onto most of them due to sentimental value. Also, my son will be graduating college this year and I’d like to gift him an acoustic and an electric.
The funny thing is I consistently take the same two guitars to my monthly happy hour gig and when I play in church. I really wish I could get down to just a handful. Every time I pout something up for sale I wind up taking it down. Stupid. |

Happy with my variety with these 5. If I meet a woman who may be around for good I’ll grab a few more before it gets too serious... bump up the “that’s just how many he has and I like him anyway” number. Not that I have thought about it ...

I own the 6 in my signature, along with a mandolin and a soprano ukulele. That's more than enough for me.

I’ve been to a high of six...during a GAS attack a couple years ago...down to two good ones (in my opinion), and that’s where I’m at now.

I have four acoustics and have just ordered a Gretsch White Falcon, the 55 vintage version with the Cadillac tail piece. I play all four acoustics in regular circulation. Two are on wall hangers in the house, but I'm gonna put another one up for when the Gretsch arrives. One stays in a gig bag and I use it for gigs and taking out for teaching lessons at school. My post one – the Kim Walker – stays in its Hoffee case and comes out when I feel in the mood for something special (although they are ALL special).

Have 5 'permanent' acoustics and the Eastman jazzbox. The 5 acoustics get played at least every other day. Normally have 2 or 3 out to play at a time and switch off pretty constantly. The jazzbox only gets played occasionally. Also have a little Recording King dirty 30s I recently took in trade for gear. It's nice but likely to go as soon as I get around to moving it. The little Martin is out on 'permanent' loan. Nice to have such a nice group of guitars and guitars that are so different from each other. Favorite changes often. 12 fretters most often get pulled from the case 1st. No major plans in the near term to downsize or de clutter. Temptation is always present as there are great guitars and sellers a short car ride away (Hoink, Ericsong, Usefultree to name a few).
