Your thoughts on Guild Jumbo Junior
Always been curious about small jumbo size. I've only seen yamaha small jumbo's locally. I'm not into englemann spruce tops found on a lot of the yamaha's. Recently saw a guild jumbo junior on the net. If anyone has tried them, can you give me your opinion?

I've played a couple. The Jumbo Junior is a cool guitar for a good price, but lags behind the GS Mini in the tone department (IMO). I'm not saying bad, just not up to speed with the Taylor.

Played one and didn’t rate it. Nowhere near the GS Mini in term of sound.

I love the Guild jumbo jr. I’ve tried the maple version and not the mahogany but found it quite responsive. I had a mahogany GS mini briefly and didn’t care for it. I find the Jumbo jr a great alternative to the GS mini. For a couple hundred less it’s the better deal in my opinion and makes a good small size guitar.

And the "full-jumbo" can now appropriate the descriptive adjective of it's distant relative, the elephant, and henceforth be know as the "Bull Jumbo". Think 17" lower bout. This is the size of the original Gibson J-200. * * * So the question is, is this a continued corruption of the English language or an etymological evolution? Bull or No-bull?  Bonus points if you know why a J-200 (or SJ-200 as it's sometimes known) has that nomenclature. Don

For the record, all my Jumboes are of the 17" variety, except for the Alvarez which has a 16.25" lower bout, but should then retain it's "jumbo" nomenclature since it is really a medium size. I have been rating it a "sm" for small, since it not a Jumbo, but something smaller. It also does not share the classic Gibson jumbo shape, but it's shape actually more closely resembles the shape of the Grand Orchestra. Maybe the Grand Orchestra can be rated a "NuJumbo"? By the way, the rosewood Grand Orchestra is louder than a rosewood J-200 with the same exact strings on each one. Then we'll put 12 strings on a rosewood Grand Orchestra . . .
Maybe "Bull Jumbo" can be contracted to "BeJumbo", or should that be a bling-related term? "BeJumboed"? Hmmm . . . Don .
