Default Cheapish Score - So impressed with my Washborn Revival Solo Deluxe 1939

I recently bought a Washburn Solo Deluxe 1939 Sunburst from Adorama on sale for ~500. When I got the guitar I was please to find that I got a new old stock 2017 with solid rosewood back and sides. It has a torrefied top. So all solid wood guitar and it plays and sounds like a dream.

I have a bunch of acoustic guitars, been playing and collecting for the last 30 years, anyway this guitar has been my huckleberry for the last three months. So happy with the purchase.

I have some $500 guitars that are not that great, but man this was a score. Small joys in life.

So happy for you! I ordered the very same guitar 2 months ago fro Adorama, for the same price. It had a great tone but it had a huge belly behind the bridge, so big that my tech recommended to send it back. I did it and unortunately Adorama told me that there were no more left for a replacement! I got a refund 🙂

So there was an outward bulg in the top? bummer. I will take a look at mine when I get home, but I haven't noticed any deformities. Amazing the quality of instruments available today for a reasonable price.

I was fortunate enough to get in on this deal. I got the acoustic model with pau ferro back and sides so mine was just North of 400 shipped. High quality workmanship and components throughout, no structural issues, great set up out of the box, beautiful look/tone and a joy to play...with quality hard case and graph tech ratio tuners!

I don't know the back story on this deal but it was a good one!

I have the rose wood mdl I bought a year ago... I paid about double that for mine. But it is still worth every penny. I love mine. Really warm woody sounding guitar plays like butter and have had 0 problems . The Ratio tuners are really nice.
If I had to complain the neck is just a little thin but not enough to be a deal breaker.

Congrats on the new guitar. But why would you keep lesser instruments? "Not that great" would never work for me unless that was the maximum I could afford. Obviously it's not for you.

I'm interested in picking this up but Washburn's specs are haphazard at best. If you don't mind my asking, how big is the body and what is the fingerboard radius? Is the nut truly 1.75"? Thanks!

I did like the couple I have gotten into my hands. I also got to spend some time with one of the Warren Haynes made in the USA versions. There was an appreciable difference between the U.S. and offshore built guitars. Then again, there was also an appreciable difference in how quick they would empty your wallet.

Horder... Just hard for me to sell anything, although I am getting to the point now that I will probably start letting some guitars go.

I have a Washburn jumbo I came across years ago about a 'lost inventory' story. Bought it, liked it so much, bought another and my brother bought one lol. All are killer. Beautiful, solid wood, play great, sound great. I guess you'd call them jumbo shape.

Washburn's, at my local GC, continually receive the most play time for the under $600 models. I can't believe how fun and nice sounding they are. Love the arm bevel models. If we had this quality in the early 70's I would of been so much happier. We endured thousands of poor tone hours. These late 60's early 70's Crown, Yamaki and other cardboard sounding, hard to keep in tune, ply guitars.

You new players have it made!

If I didn't have a full 7 acoustic closet, I would like to get a Washburn. Glad a lot of players like them.
My cheapy for writing in the field and traveling to the grandkids is a PRS 2019 SE model for under $900. I still love this one.
