Default A couple East Texas guitars (new pics pg 2)

If anyone has followed the Custom Shop lately, you’ve seen we’ve been busy. We have crammed a few more instruments into the mix among everything else. We would like to show them off over the next few weeks.

The first one is a Sitka/E. Indian Rosewood deep body OM that will be bringing to BIG3 next week.

Thanks for looking and hope to have you play this one at BIG!

Beautiful, a very classic look that will wear very nicely with time.

Here’s a Engelmann/Spanish Cedar parlor that we’re delivering today. We would have done a video for it, but the woman who had this built requested a 1 5/8” nut spacing. While it’s definitely playable, it is a little hard to keep clean with big fingers.

Hope you enjoy!

Gorgeous woods on both these guitars.

Very cool headstock and binding on the parlor.

And that Sitka--just WOW!

Looking forward to seeing you guys and this OM soon!

That Parlor is gorgeous! Is that Koa binding? And what about the front headstock plate?

Thanks Dogma! Yes it’s some very curly Koa for both the binding and the headplate (as well as the rosette).

Appreciate the kind words everyone!

Beautiful! The Sitka tops on both guitars look really top-shelf- silky and luxurious. The Indian Rosewood on the OM is that rich, dark, gorgeous EIR that I'm always on the hunt for, and is quite rare to find in that quality. Really looking forward to seeing it, and you and Steve, next week. I KNOW both of these guitars have the legendary Kinnaird tone. I bet the Spanish Cedar Parlor is as light as a feather. You guys always delivery the ultra-primo goods. RESPECT! And a healthy helping of AWE.

I appreciate that, NTS. Like so many luthiers, we’re always on the hunt for the remarkable.

Yes indeed, Dogma. Since this Spanish Cedar actually grew in Hawaii, it seemed a logical choice.

Hey Steve, thanks for dropping by. The top on that parlor—believe it or not—is actually Engelmann. Our customer chose this very top since she was looking for something a bit “out of the ordinary”. When Ryan heard her say that, he said “We May have just the thing!”…and pulled out this top. She loved it. And so this top, which I said we’d probably never use, has found a loving home.
See ya next week!

Thanks Dennis! One of the highlights of these shows is getting to chat with my favorite Cigarfan. See you next week,

Steve
