I love this series - I'm up to #7, A Noble Radiance. I look forward to seeing how she ages Brunetti as the series continues.

I was listening to the audio book of Hamilton last year to while away the minutes on my treadmill. It went on for weeks. When I realized that I had reached the chapter about Hamilton's duel, I was elated knowing the end was near! Rick

I envy you the journey. I've enjoyed every installment, and am slightly saddened by the fact that I've got more in the rear view mirror than the road ahead.

A series of memoirs by Dan Rattiner, founder and publisher of Dan's Papers (which means little to anyone not familiar with the area of NY known as the Hamptons and Montauk). For those that do know what I'm referring to, it's a great trip down memory lane and a behind-the-curtain peek into the history and evolution of that area.

I'm reading "A Philosophy of Walking" by Frederic Gros.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FUZPQ86...ng=UTF8&btkr=1 He is German, and an academic, but don't let that stop you. Very accessible, good translation (assuming the original is in his native tongue), lots of history. Not my typical fare but I am enjoying it.

I am kind of late getting in on this "post" but just completed reading in December Red Sword by Norman Wood. It is based on real events from the 80's concerning a plan to carry out a military coup. I am now awaiting delivery of the second book of the series, Thorn.
A side note about the author is that he and I worked together in law enforcement before he left the WV State Police for Federal employment. I have not read much for several years, but truly enjoyed the first book the series and am looking forward to the second. I think I might try to do a little more reading based upon some of the books noted in this thread.

Started Dan Brown's 5th and final book of the Robert Landon series. I've liked all of them so far.

Just started reading Dr. Sanjay Gupta's book on brain health, Keep Sharp. At my age I'm hoping to glean some information that will help to offset relentless dull decrepitude.

Hey Dru... Thanks for commenting and I hope all is well with you. I just received Thorn this afternoon and hopefully will start reading it tomorrow. Expecting new snow tonight and colder temperatures so this will be a good time to begin reading and strumming on the guitar a little. Take care...

The Complete Short Stories of Ernest Hemmingway.
The Finca Vigia Edition (whatever significance the mention of Cuba might affix). My first exposure to EH. Thick book, tiny print, tons of short, concise adventures. I like to map all the varied locales to think about where I am visiting. I read at night and rip through 2-3 before drifting off. |

Finished Shattered Sword: The Untold Story of the Battle of Midway. I've written up a review but don't want to ruffle feathers.
