Default NMD!

This has been on my wish list for over 15 years. I used to ride and race motorcycles in the early-mid 00’s, and then gave it up. For many years I dreamt about getting back in the saddle, but life kept me from doing so. My wife hates the idea, and is worried, and I can’t help it but to feel selfish. But when I showed up with tons of brand new motorcycle riding PPE, she then realized I’ll do everything I can to be safe.

Today was my first day in the wild on a motorcycle since 2007, and after a few awkward takeoffs from a stop, it all came back. Shortly after I was doing perfect rev-match downshifts under braking, just like back in the day. Nothing could wipe that grin off my face.

Ok here she is. 2008 Suzuki SV650. Just enough bike to get comfortable riding again. Tons of fun, very tossable around corners, and a torquey V-twin.

Juan, congrats on the nice ride! Use your motorcycle PPE, stay safe, and enjoy yourself. No racing on the streets .

Welcome back to the riding fraternity/sorority. V-twins are the business - enjoy riding and be safe!

How terrific for you to get back in the saddle again! And a great bike to refresh your skills. Those SV650’s always got wonderful reviews about handling and performance. And V-twins make the best sounds when you twist the throttle.
Ride hard my friend!

Thanks Dru! I got the racing out of my system during those young days.

This is from 2005-06. Couldn’t find pics of actual racing, but this is how my bike went from pretty to multi colored. It was a 2002 Triumph TT600, which was the predecessor of the Daytona 675 triple of today.

Yep I jumped on it right away because I know how great these bikes are.

Got me a GoPro and took it for a spin yesterday. Yes this is what hawaii in mid February looks like. [emoji4]

Juan, what a great ride! Do you get to ride it often?

The weather looks beautiful in HI. I'm in the middle of a snowstorm here watching the wind whip the snow horizontally.

Only on weekends for now. Not practical to bring it to work, but I might bring it every now and then. February is usually a rainy month in hawaii, so those clear skies and cool temperature in the mid 70’s sure was a treat.

It’s good with lots of pressure and long hours. I feel like I’m going home early the random day I get to clock out at my 8th hour. [emoji23]

Plus working on the Anheuser Bush delivery truck fleet has its perks. [emoji482]
