Default Is all Herringbone created equal ?

Where is a good place to buy Herringbone ?
Are there different colours ?

It's cheap on aliexpress if you dont mind waiting for months to get it. With shipping seems to run between $1.50 to $3.00 a strip if you buy 20 strips.

Default It’s really worth making your own…

…for several reasons, including that you can decide the angle of the bones, the colour of the woods used, and width.

I’ve noticed that on many instruments the double herringbone purflings don’t line up properly; this can be tackled by housing two half herringbones to a central thin veneer which will hold the pieces in place when bending. You do have to be careful on tight bends to ensure the sections don’t separate.

Fiddly? Absolutely. Satisfying? Most definitely.

Instructions somewhere? I was able to find instructions for rope binding but not Herringbone.
