Smile Is this a real Martin D28?

I found this on ebay and it looks pretty weird to me, I thought all D28 are rosewood b&s and idk if this is a real martin or not:

I think D28s have ebony fretboards and bridges as well.

I never seen any D-28 with label inside. Also the back/fretboard look different.

This looks very shall we say, unusual for a Martin.
The back is of particular note as it reminds me a lot of some earlier mandolins from the first half of the 20th century which would have their backs stained in a striped pattern to resemble wood grain.

Further, with that label in place it highlights the fact that the centre reinforcing strip common to most Martin dreads is missing.

The bridge is also the wrong shape.

I personally would not go near this.

That's mahogany or sapele, D28 is rosewood. The fretboard and bridge are rosewood instead of ebony like they're supposed to be. And that logo is a bit off.

Definitely fake.

Not a D-28..
Its not rosewood BS,back of the headstock wrong, wrong label,no ebony on fretboard..its 100% fake.
If it was a true martin with different specks it would have been written on the label.

In addition to all the many other incorrect details, in addition to being made of rosewood instead of the ebony it should be, the bridge is shaped incorrectly to be a Martin - the wings of the bridge don't look right. They're too pointy on the side closer to the tailblock.

I would report this to eBay but don't have the eBay registration needed to make the report, and don't care to sign up. But somebody who is registered with them should alert eBay that this guy has a fake Martin that he's trying to sell as real.

Cool Is this a real Martin D-28?

Definitely a FAKE!!! Bridge is wrong, rosette is wrong, headstock is wrong, fretboard is wrong, backstrip missing, wrong wood. Run away from that one.

It's possible the seller has also been duped. However, I just reported it to Ebay. Hopefully it will be removed before someone else is cheated out of the real thing.

The guitar is definitely a fake. The case appears to be genuine but not the one a D-28 comes in.
