I know people who lose their minds over the loss of seconds a day. Personally, I don't really care. When my wristwatch says 8:59 and my iPhone say 9:00, I simply adjust the wristwatch...

It’s annoying to me, but I guess it just goes with the territory. High price to buy, high price to maintain, inaccurate. Perfect!

I tend to wear my watches for 3 or 4 weeks at a time in rotation, so depending on the loss/gain I set the watch fast or slow by an amount that then runs in and out of being exact over that period of time.

How do you set a watch that's accurate to a billionth of a second anyway? A billionth/sec @ speed of light is about 8 inches----I'll stick with my Timex.

My typical rule is if Casio doesn't make it, I don't need it, but I went outside my normal realm when I purchased my Seiko Solar Dive watch...

I’m far from a watch geek - I haven’t regularly worn one in ten years - but I just had this advertised to me on Facebook and bought it as an impulse buy. It wasn’t expensive but I think it’s a very understated, smart design. Looking forward to receiving it. And now I can more subtly check the time in boring meetings without sneakily catching a glimpse of my phone in my pocket!

Looks like an awfully teeny crown. I know I would have trouble with that.

man, really love the watches in this thread. They bring back a lot of memories. I used to collect watches but ever since the Apple Watch came out, that’s all I wear and use.

I relate. I still love mechanical timepieces and fountain pens but the Apple Watch dominates. In many ways I feel it parallels old school timepieces as transformative technology and more vital than many might think. One example would be how it aids my 90 year old mother and may more with independence and safety. The nudge factor and health aspects have really helped some I know manage their health much better.

Still, I'll always love some earlier Bulova and some classic Swiss watch types and models.

True - I have an Orient diver which looks lovely, but has a tiny guarded crown which is really awkward.

On the other hand, Foxo’s new Swatch is quartz, so he’s only going need to use the crown about 7 times a year, once it’s set

I've been wearing a stainless steel Rolex Datejust for 39 years. 10 years ago I damaged it in a bicycle crash that nearly killed me. The Rolex repairs were $795 for the crystal, bezel, and miscellaneous items.
My week in the hospital was $56,000.
Neither the watch nor I are in the best of shape these days.

Bertucci.

Rough, tough and accurate.

No day, no date, no bs.

Love this watch.

I am, to a point. I like automatics, and limit my interest to ones with a 4:30 crown.

I have several Seikos like this in the Monster and similar ranges. I’d very much like a Sinn U1, U2 or U50 but won’t buy one sight unseen.

I like chronograph watches but as I've grown older and my eyesight has changed I like an easy to read dial with clear numbers and distinctive hands, preferably with the chrono seconds hand in a bright colour.

I ordered a Citizen AT0200-05E last week and it arrived today.

I took off the clunky Army green canvas strap as soon as it arrived - Citizen are not doing themselves a favour supplying the watch with this strap.( I watched 4 video reviews and they all said the same thing! )

Fitted a black leather 'Rally' strap with red stitching. Got a sort of 'Field' watch meets 'Pilot' watch 'Rally' vibe happening.

Not too big or too small, water resistant to 100 mts and with 'Eco'Drive' does not use batteries.
