Instead of Hercules Stands, maybe they should rename them Goliath Falls.

I’ll tell you what tho, it’s been my experience that when there are several different guitar stands around to hang your axe on after playing, and there are several guitar players around, we all head for the Hercules first.

I wouldn't let this issue stop me from purchasing another Hercules. The plastic body pin seems so safe and secure, I won't bother Hercules unless/when the other stand fails. The height is something I set once and don't seem to think about again.

Has anyone had a successful replacement without providing their receipt? It’s been several years since I purchase mine and God only knows where the receipt ended up.

I was gigging professionally when I bought mine and can probably locate the receipt.

I emailed yesterday, the same picture I posted here in this thread, with an exclamation that I own 2 and the other one is fine, and that my Gibson acoustic wasn't damaged when it failed.

There has been no response in 24 hours.

I'm losing faith, but we'll see what they do.

I WILL keep you guys posted.

Keep us posted. I'll be reaching out to Hercules as well but I need to get home, take pictures, etc. Probably won't happen for another week.

I have three of them, all 15+ years old. They are the only floor stands I use now. I don't have the sticky adjustment handle, but I have only changed the height once or twice in all those years. And if the mechanism ever fails (or even looks iffy) I will simply drill and pop rivet it together so that it cannot fail.

Yes, they just wanted the number off the stand.

There's a serial number on the stand? Where is it? I guess I never looked before.

Possibly it's more like a batch number. Can't believe they'd serialize these things. The only number I find is on a small yellow tag on one of the legs. That number is A008H, immediately below "Made in China."

Checking the good stand, that tag is black and numbered A013L.

I am not sure but they told me where to look. No hassle. They just sent me a new one.
