Default Mandouche

A shameless plug for a record I did for a mandolin friend of mine. Or...not really, 'cause it's not for sale in quite some time anyway

We just had some fun making a little video while waiting, since that vinyl factory is somewhat busy these days...

I'm mostly into music quite different from this, but I find it fun and stimulating to dive into different styles. Using a HD35 and a Taylor custom 12 fret on this. I looove this particular Taylor, but obviously the dreadnought gets the most use in this setting.

For a minute there, I thought this was about a new male hygiene product.

Thanks! I think in January. He has no distribution for the vinyl so that will be private sale, or from a personal webpage maybe. Download, probably from most known places

Sounds great. I want to buy the vinyl record when it's done. I loved the Schoeps mikes in the vid. About the vid: Very nice work there. Seeing the gear and playing added to the impact of the sound. To be honest, I didn't think the musicians' "look into camera" moments worked as well... also the repeating coffee pouring.

Love the Schoeps'! Everything was recorded with them on this project A tad bit too much midrange in the end using only those, but easily fixed with some eq. Hehe, I agree about the video...those faces are really just uncomfortable with that camera. We only planned the beginning before shooting, so we ended up with lots of bad or boring framings and out of focus shots, and not enough usable material.
