Pretty confident it's north of 200.
And 195 came after finding this forum...

OK, so up to post 62 (fitness1) it is 2,204 guitars owned by the 51 AGF'rs that knew the amount or made an estimate. That's 39.69 guitars-per-person. No wonder guitar companies love to sponsor the AGF!

That makes me very average. 40 guitars in 49 years. Currently own 7. Am not counting the basses, banjo, ukulele, keyboards, or drum set, all of which are gone except two electric pianos (one of which is for teaching). I should put 5he 7 keepers in my signature. Fun thread. And its reassuring to finally be average...

Started with my Fender Bronco, still have it. Been "playing" for 4 years maybe. Not at all good at it, lol. Never took it seriously until recently. Bicycles and cars on the other hand, literally too many to remember. I used to get new cars faster than I could go through a big box of laundry detergent.

In 60 years of playing, I count 16, of which 7 still reside with me. Arthritis may soon require some changes.

Only three. Started learning guitar in the mid-90s as an adjunct to sitar on a Yamaha classical guitar, which I later sold. Bought an Alvarez six-string, fate unknown, and then the Alvarez Yairi twelve-string, which is now my only guitar.

Started in 1973.
Have owned 20, currently have 7. That's just my guitars. I've owned many other stringed instruments over the years. I have settled into primarily playing guitars and mountain dulcimers.

In playing about 8 years (1 or 2 in my youth and 6 now continuously). I've had 16 and still have 9. I will say I'm as happy as I've ever been and don't feel any need to acquire any more. For now

Started playing electric in 1978 or 79, kind of fuzzy on the details.... I did have one of those big foam/vinyl covered Kustom 100 watt amps. Made sure the whole neighborhood could hear me playing really bad renditions of Smoke on the Water. Got my first acoustic in 1980 with an old blond Aria or Madeira something or other. I probably had 5 or 6 total guitars come and go until retirement in 2016. I think it's been about 12-13 more that have passed through my hands in the past 4 years. I'm at 5 now, and happy with that...
