Please suggest a music tab display app
I'm interested in an app for my ipad that will organize my music (I can download pdf's of tabs I like) and display it. I plan to use a stand for the ipad, and have a Airturn BT200 s2 bluetooth pedal to turn pages.
Currently, I have multiple binders of tabs that I've downloaded and then printed, but its unwieldy and no longer practical. I've been researching this, lots of threads, but some are pretty dated and this technology changes rapidly. I'd like one that is easy to use, fast and reliable, easy to import into(preferably from google drive). Mostly, to display what I already have, and work well with the page turning pedal. Ones I've seen that look interesting: unreal book, paperless music, onsong. I know some of you folks have figured this out, so I'm hoping to do this right the first time. Thanks for the help! |

I've been using OnSong for about four years. I sing and play with a band, host several weekly acoustic jam sessions, perform with a trio, and teach a weekly baritone ukulele class. I always recommend OnSong because it's easy to use and easy to organize the music. With the band, I organize our show sets. The trio is mostly sheet music, which I upload as PDFs. I can create custom books for my favorite songs, my jam songs, songs I want to learn, etc. One of my favorite features of OnSong is the console. It's an add-on, so it's extra cost, but it allows you to work in OnSong on your laptop via a portal through the app on your iPad. You can create and edit, and you're not dealing with the limitations of a PDF. When the song is created in OnSong you have the ability to transpose, which you can't do with a PDF. It's a lot of copy and paste, but, for me, it's worth it. It's also very easy to upload and import from external sources and, as for foot pedals, there are about 15 options, including a custom configuration. It's a very robust app; I use it every day.

I use ForScore and have for a couple of years. I can’t say I’ve had any problems with the program.
Goid lick with whatever you choose. They all beat shuffling papers around.
