Is there a noticable difference GS MINI SPRUCE VS HOG?
I own a GS Mini Spruce love it....i was thinking of getting the Mahogony one as well. I am hesitating as apart from the visual difference can anyone out there tell me if the difference in sound is noticable or just a slight difference. If the difference in sound is not distinct then i will keep my money.

I went for the mahogany top; it's a noticeably warmer, darker sound. Still bright, but not as much as the spruce.

You really should A/B them. I'm not convinced that the difference is enough to have both. It was enough for me to buy the Mahogany, but I would never buy the spruce in addition.

I have noticed that there is a difference in tone between the two. Like Dennis mentioned above , the mahogany top is warmer, as one would expect.
Do you enjoy the GS Mini so much that you really want two of them? |

I agree with those above. I played both, not at the same time, but in different stores. Even without playing them back-to-back, I thought the hog sounded noticeably warmer.
But, I also don't think it would be worth it to have both. Jason

Yes i do, i also own a Taylor 410 Dread, much more expensive and sounds great, but i just find myself playing the Mini much more. I like small guitars...Some people think the Mini is a toy guitar. NOT TRUE. Its a great sounding guitar period.

I compared two mahogany and two sitka minis a few days ago side by side. As with all production guitars they all sounded different. One of the sitka models sounded warmer than one of the mahogany versions and one of each model sounded quite similar. In the end I decided the sample to sample variations were as much a factor as the tonewoods used in this particular situation and I saw no reason to add the mahogany model to the sitka one I already have, although the mahogany version looks very sharp. Good luck.

The only aspect that I find to be somewhat toy like is the cramped fingerboard.
