Default Taylor GS mini saddle?

Hi all,

Does anyone know if the Taylor GS mini six-string compensated saddle is the same exact size and shape as one doe a full-sized Taylor? Or does it differ in some way?

Does anyone know for a fact whether a saddle swap must be performed by a Taylor-approved technician or if this can be completed by the owner?

Thanks!

Taylor saddles fit all Taylor’s. I have swapped the saddles on my Spruce GS Mini and Big Baby to the Taylor wave bone saddle. I needed to do a tiny bit of sanding to get a nice fit in the saddle slot.

Thanks for that feedback, Nick! That is good to know.

I haven’t tried a bone saddle but I wonder if it could reduce brightness and increase warmth on a spruce GS mini, which can be quite bright.

If you are interested in selling your original Taylor saddles, I may be interested, assuming they are micarta and work with ES2. :-)

I’ve gone from micarta to bone on the GS Mini and I wouldn’t say it reduces brightness. I’d look more at string choice. Try a set of Martin Retros that should do the trick.

I have a GS Mini, spruce/walnut and the Martin monel Retros in medium did a great job of taming the brightness. Been on 4 months now and still going strong.
